Genome Stripes

Coloured thermoplastic strips

1 mile long x 30 inches wide

Genome Stripes in Cambridgeshire celebrates the role of the nearby Sanger Institute in decoding the vital human gene BRCA2 made up of 10,257 elements in a specific sequence. It lies on the National Cycle Network between Addenbroke’s and Great Shelford.

Portrait Bench is part of Sustrans’ Connect2 programme along the National Cycle Network.  A series of 282 life sized portraits selected by local people to represent their community at 79 sites across the UK.

Willow Walk

The Willow Walk is a long corridor edged with Willow Trees beside the River Brue. Created with volunteers who helped plant the 3000 ‘stools’ and ‘wands’ in rows, circles and arcs of different colours and varieties. It lies on the National Cycle Network outside Glastonbury and at certain points it frames the Tor as it travels towards the finish.
